-LEARNING AIM A-
I chose the two genres horror and fantasy so I could see if there was any similarities and differences. One similarity I observed was the lighting as they both import high-key lighting, majority of both the short films were quite bright. In the horror genre it is a common convention to have low-key lighting to create shadows and a mysterious setting, but in 'Don't look in the mirror' only a small amount of low-key lighting was used, this still makes it a horror short film as it has still similar conventions used for horror. The editing technique added in both short films was 'Elliptical editing' as they were both used effectively to show the duration of the day or week going past without showing everything. One difference that viewers may have noticed is sound techniques. An example of this is the use of diegetic sound. In the horror short film both the audience and cast could hear the dialogue, Whereas in the fantasy short film viewers can only hear non-diegetic sound as it is an animation.

Experimental video
In this short clip, I was asked to edit with this silent experimental video. I used Premier Pro to help me edit and export this video. I used the razor tool to cut up parts of the video so that I could give an eerie effect. I also used the colour wheel to saturate parts of the video so that it could look more dark and grey. I also included different video transitions to make the video less boring, for example, I used a fade to black to show the ending of the video and I also imported a cross-dissolve to show the transition between the video.
